Sauce Day 2025
On Sunday 23th February, we woke to find it had been declared a total fire ban... and in fact, Mother Nature gave us quite a show; extreme wind, heat, heavy rain & even a splatter of hail. So, unfortunately we could not go ahead on Sunday & our Sauce Day pivoted into a two day event!
Despite the disappointment of not being able to make the passata on Sunday, everyone sat down to
Arni's delicious rustic feast, accompanied by Lorene's sourdough bread & salty butter.
We were graced with Peter Barber & guitarist Andrew Osborne's beautiful performance of 'Nana's Farewell', based on Peter's original poem 'Safe Home'.
The following day we arrived at 8am and went to work on the tomatoes! We started with 216kgs and, directed by Mr Magnifico, ended up with 164 bottles of steaming hot passata, all labelled up by 3pm.
An excellent job by all, and two days that won't be forgotten easily!
